What Does the Research Show?

The evidence becomes easier to understand if we separate the immediate effects from changes that occur after repeated training.

Immediate Flexibility Improvements

Some of the strongest acute studies show improvements after just one vibration session. One study tested side-to-side whole-body vibration at several different frequencies and amplitudes, and flexibility increased immediately after the vibration and remained higher 15 minutes later.

Interestingly, 15, 20, and 30 Hz all produced improvements. Different amplitudes also worked without one setting clearly outperforming the others.

Sometimes it may, but the evidence is not consistent enough to say that vibration-assisted stretching is universally superior.
